Mayor Dennis – Questionable Partnerships Exposed

This information was provided to CW Watch by a concerned voter who attended the Mayoral Forum Thursday night and caught Mayor Dennis providing misleading information…

David Lugliani is the biggest developer in Camas (despite what the mayor said last night). He and his family members are the biggest single contributors to the Mayor’s campaign. He hosted [...]

Pike and Dennis Discuss Jobs, Annexation, Taxes, and Accountability Before A Large Crowd Thursday Night.

Commentary by Gary Perman
Dennis came across well prepped, polished, and relaxed. I think he did a good job of telling his supports what they wanted to hear and answered some stinging questions pretty darn well. I have to compliment him on that. It’s too bad several of his supports in the audience including Dennis’ [...]

Dennis and Cheney deny wrongdoing in ticket fixing

According to The Columbian, “A blog story erred, for example, when it said that Chief Chaney let Dennis off the hook when the mayor got a $15 parking ticket. The story set off a firestorm on the blog. But the story is untrue, Chaney and Dennis said.”
“Dennis admitted he got the ticket and contested it, [...]

Riverside Bowl Awaits The Bulldozer

What used to be “Wagon Wheel Park” and a roller skating rink transitioned into the Riverside Bowl in the late 40’s and remained a favorite recreation spot for Camas families and bowling enthusiasts until last month, when it quietly shut its doors and turned off the lights. The area is expected to change again and become [...]

FANSTASY BASKETBALL IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

It was reported to me through a confidential inside source (no one running for political office), and allegedly common knowledge within the Police Department and City Administrators office of Camas, that Chief of Police Don Chaney allegedly has a little diversionary habit of partaking in “Fantasy Basketball”. Fantasy Basketball is an on-line betting and [...]

Washougals TOP PROJECT

I understand that Mr. Hickey is leasing out space in the “New Washougal” complex for 30-35 per square foot.
I also understand he turned away a national food chain from occupying one of the spaces and currently has NO tenants.
I also hear from the existing downtown merchants that Hickey thinks the new reflection park is [...]

Follow Up – Purchasing Practices at City Hall

Since many of you readers and writers asked for the full press release on Liz, I contacted Liz and asked her if she would provide more information.
Sure enough, Liz isn’t afraid to answer questions or discuss issues (unlike the Mayor).
 Here it is:

 “For Immediate Release:
Council Member Pike Seeks to Correct Purchasing Practices at City Hall
 Camas, [...]

Camas candidate says city broke law

Camas candidate says city broke law

So why wasn’t the city doing what was right before Pike blew the whistle?
Funny how NOW, once Pike brings the issue to light, a city official states “ beginning in October, the city will call for a formal bid on the caustic soda”. It appears to me they have [...]

Does Nerlands’ Action offend voters?

On Paul Dennis’s website, there is an endorsement video by Mike Nerland. Not only does he have his title splashed across the page, but where is he? Standing on School District grounds?
Might be a PDC issue ?
Will his political endorsement offend or alienate voters?
Will it be remembered when the next bond [...]

How can I earn Your Vote Without Answering Questions?

Aristotle once wrote: To avoid Criticism, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing”. This might be great advice for a blog writer or citizen thinking about writing a letter to the editor or the person that is too self absorbed to bother standing up for their beliefs. It is NOT an appropriate quote for a [...]

Do we have a need for additional retail development and tax generations within CW?

I have found the following excerpt that was prepared by E. D. Hovee & Associates for the Port of Camas/Washougal and the Waterfront Advisory Committee:

I have taken the time to study a number of the issues that are out there today surrounding the development at the Port of Camas/Washougal [...]

Who’s overseeing Our Camas Fire Department? Another Accountability Issue:

This photo was taken in Camas on August 23, 2007. According to CW Watch sources, there were at least 8 Camas fire fighter/paramedics playing soccer in the field adjacent to the photo of three Camas fire apparatus that you see in the picture. Photo was taken at Dorothy Fox school near the field. The [...]
