Will you be one of the brave souls to venture down to CLark Park tomorrow to view the Washougal fireworks? If so, let us know how it goes. send us photos.
It sounds like it’ll be an absolute madhouse. Since Vancouver isn’t having fireworks, those that regularly attend will be flocking to other parts of the area – Portland, Cascade locks and Washougal. I hope the local and state police are smart enough to gear up for a massive amount of people on HWY 14 and the industrial park. I wonder who is going to pay for the cleanup, the added police, and the fire department (when some pinhead lights the dry grass on fire)?
Well, the writer is going to stay home, drink a few beers, BBQ and sit around a backyard campfire. Pretty dull, but a lot less stressful.

I hope that people will pay attention to the dry conditions and the fire danger and behave responsibly. I usually worry about my animals being freaked out, but this year I’m more worried about all the dry grass and vegetation, and the fact that local fire departments probably will be stretched so thin that we’ll be left fighting fires with garden hoses and household fire extinguishers. Not just fireworks — watch that backyard campfire too!

Congratulations to the City of Washougal for hosting an impressive fire works display at Captain Clark Park last night. We joined several families on the beach for a very entertaining event.

This was the best Cottonwood beach 4th ever – plenty of things for the kids to do, and yards of beach to play on. Oh, and the little
fireworks display was awesome! Worth every penny. It wasn’t overrun with too many folks, either. Just perfect.

It’s great that the 200th anniversary of the Lewis & Clark expedition gave our community the opportunity to re-discover Cottonwood Beach. Captain William Clark Park is a wonderful community asset that entire families can now enjoy.

wow riverbottom! Is you figure of $450.00 accurate for a 22 minute fireworks display?? Sounds like a bargain to me! Also, it is the Fourth of July!! Try remembering what those fireworks and celebrations symbolize and mean…. I could elaborate and tell you if you need me to but I will refrain from stating what is obvious to most!!

Patriot, the fireworks had gone on for three days & nights! The whole town was lightup for free, what more do you need, Also blowing things up a 1AM has nothing to do with what the July 4 is all about. Patriot, how may flags did you count on front porches?

Flags were on every house except one on our street. We still enjoyed fireworks with the neighbors and watching the show at the CWCP from our street.

“The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

Looks like the founder father disagrees with Riverbottom.
